Puget Sound Pipe & Supply has grouped the many different Alaska North Slope requirements into one general category we call "Arctic Grade". These Special North Slope Requirements are contained in the PVF Specifications for the major oil producers in the state of Alaska. The additional requirements are over and above the requirements of the applicable ASTM, MSS and API.
Puget Sound Pipe has been active in the Alaskan low temperature oilfield market since 1983. Our vast experience with the harsh operating environment in the state of Alaska has provided a vast knowledge of material requirements for low temperature projects worldwide. Our business relationship with Conoco-Alaska Inc., Hilcorp-Alaska Inc., Santos, and Alyeska Pipeline Service Company are formidable. Over the years we've supplied material to the Willow, Alpine, Point McIntyre, Badami, Northstar, and Point Thomson Projects contractually, as well as Alyeska Pipeline's "Strategic Reconfiguration" project on the Trans-Alaska pipeline. Our broad base of Arctic Grade users allows us to keep the largest inventory of this specialized material in the Northwest United States. Additionally, PSP has developed and qualified a supplier list that complies with additional challenges of doing business on the North Slope. Puget Sound Pipe and Supply also have fully staffed expediting, quality, and vendor data departments within Alaska, specializing in making sure material arrives correct and on time for our Partner’s needs. Our local presence and history allow us to better understand the demanding logistical requirements that come with doing business on the North Slope, including ice road schedules.
